Data show that Indonesia is the largest trading partner of ASEAN. From January to April, Xiamen's import and export to Indonesia reached 19.04 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.1%, accounting for 36.4% of Xiamen's total trade with ASEAN in the same period; The import and export to Vietnam reached 9.64 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.4%; The import and export to Thailand was 6.87 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.5%.
State owned enterprises grew rapidly. From January to April, the import and export of state-owned enterprises in Xiamen to ASEAN reached 24.31 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.8%; The import and export of private enterprises reached 17.01 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.6%.
Mechanical and electrical products, coal and agricultural products are the main imported commodities. From January to April, Xiamen imported 5.78 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products from ASEAN, a year-on-year decrease of 8.7%; Imported coal was 5.56 billion yuan, an increase of 73.4% year-on-year; The import of agricultural products was 4.36 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12%; The three commodities together account for 50.3% of the total import value.
Exports are mainly mechanical and electrical products and labor-intensive products. From January to April, Xiamen exported 7.5 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products to ASEAN, a year-on-year increase of 8.3%; The export of labor-intensive products was 5.65 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.2%; The two commodities together accounted for 62.3% of the total export value. In addition, the export of agricultural products was 2.52 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.8%, accounting for 11.9%.
