(1) Export of sulfuric acid
According to China Customs statistics, from January to April 2022, China exported 1.642 million tons of sulfuric acid, an increase of 958,000 tons or 140.0% over the same period last year; the average export price was US$129.7/ton, an increase of US$81.6/ton over the same period last year, an increase of 169.7% .
In April, the export of sulfuric acid was 319,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 19.4% and a month-on-month decrease of 38.4%; the average export price was US$127.6/ton, a year-on-year increase of 123.6% and a month-on-month decrease of 7.4%.
From January to April 2022, the top three exporting countries are Morocco (575,000 tons), Chile (493,000 tons), and Turkey (114,000 tons), accounting for 35.0%, 30.0%, and 6.94% respectively; The top three export provinces are Jiangsu (663,000 tons), Guangxi (306,000 tons), and Shandong (276,000 tons).
(2) Imports of sulfuric acid
According to China Customs statistics, from January to April 2022, China imported 92,000 tons of sulfuric acid, a decrease of 64,000 tons or 41.0% from the same period last year. After excluding high-priced acid, the average import price was US$109.9/ton, an increase of US$70.8/ton or 181.0% over the same period last year.
In April, the imported sulfuric acid was 36,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 24.5% and a month-on-month increase of 1128.6%. After excluding high-priced acids, the average import price was US$102.0/ton, up 84.9% year-on-year.
From January to April 2022, sulfuric acid was mainly imported from South Korea (84,000 tons) and Taiwan, China (8,000 tons).
